Trek Trades Augusta presents local artist Tim Strings on February 14th for a night of cello-driven jazz.
After studying in Nashville under Tracy Silverman's Jazz String Quartet, and playing in the Nashville Philharmonic, Tim's talents were sought out to perform on the north american tour of Barrage 8. Since then he has toured with a variety of bands and was sought out to perform at the Clazz International Music Festival in Toscana, Italy; and the Hollywood Film Music Orchestra in Nanjing, China.
Sponsored by NS Design on the 5-string electric-cello, Tim has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists such as violinists Zach Brock and Roy "Futureman" Wooten, as well as Christian Howes, Tracy Silverman, and Billy Contreras.
He is now innovating the "Cellola," a cello tuned lower to take on the role of upright bass, while spearheading the Augusta Wine & Jazz Fest in Augusta, Missouri. Inspired to compose, Tim's current project is REígnite, a Symphonic Film™ which is fed by his apprenticeship program, Trek Trades.
Tim, initially a blues guitarist, quickly embraced improvisation on cello and has since been performing internationally as a contemporary cellist.
